TORONTO – Global has thrown some serious marketing weight behind a campaign promoting the return of its popular show Glee.
In addition to Glee Club singers performing songs a capella around Toronto in the days leading up to the series return on April 13, the campaign features advertising on radio, TV, print, and outdoor; display advertising on targeted TV and gossip websites such as TMZ, Perez Hilton and AOL; plus various social media platforms.
The campaign also teases an announcement due next week which promises to “bring a new sound to Toronto".
"Glee has built an incredible following since its premiere and has become a worldwide pop culture phenomenon”, said Jamie Schouela, VP of marketing strategy for Global, in a press release. “It’s finally back and we knew we had a fantastic opportunity to speak to the existing fan base while enticing new viewers to get hooked. We have one more big surprise and Gleeks everywhere are going to love it."
