OAKVILLE – The Weather Network’s revised mobile platforms will not just make easier for consumers to check their local forecast, they’ll also offer new ways for advertisers to reach their target markets.
The new WeatherEye Mobile for BlackBerry, which will automatically be pushed to current users, includes a cleaner design that provides improved navigation, the ability to add multiple cities, and is Wi-Fi compatible so that users no longer have to use their data package. The re-designed mobile website for WebKit-based phones, such as the iPhone and phones based on the Google Android platform, has a new look and improved features including improved navigation and setting selections.
Advertisers can benefit from new functionality that offers age and gender targeting, allowing ads to be tailored and served to specific demographics. The re-design also offers larger and improved ad spaces with better placements, as well as sponsorship opportunities including ‘skinning’ on all sponsored areas such as the Bug and Golf Reports.
