That’s hot, says nextMEDIA contest

TORONTO – Event group nextMEDIA has kicked off a Canada-wide hunt for “the hottest emerging digital properties”, called ‘The Digital Hot List’.

The competition is open to content portals, social media groups, websites, newsletters, blogs or any digital media property that can demonstrate “a loyal and growing fan base that provides a tantalizing vehicle for advertisers”.

“The aim is to source out the emerging digital hot spots where Canadian audiences are congregating and to showcase those properties directly to the advertising community,” said Mark Greenspan, vice president of digital media at Achilles Media, parent of nextMEDIA.

Entries will be judged by members of the Canadian advertising community on criteria such as the number of members and unique users, growth of user base, level of audience engagement, ability to commercialize the audience, co-branding potential and a viable growth strategy.

Finalists will receive half price passes to nextMEDIA Banff where they will have face-to-face time with advertisers actively looking for partners, plus promotional opportunities with nextMEDIA and the recognition as one of Canada’s hottest digital properties.

nextMEDIA Banff takes place at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, from June 5-7. It explores the future of digital content production, distribution and funding and is attended by international content creators, broadcasters, agencies and advertisers. Linked with the Banff World Television Festival schedule, delegates can take advantage of the synergies connecting the two media communities
