TORONTO – CTV has picked the winner of its Corner Gas Pump Out a Poster Contest, marking the end of its popular original comedy series ‘Corner Gas’.
The network received almost 300 submissions “in every conceivable medium”, making it one of the most successful user-generated projects in CTV.ca’s history, the press release said.
Winner Walt Radda from Little Britain, ON, submitted the winning entry, an ink drawing of the cast that he called ‘Thunderface’. The poster will soon be sold at CornerGas.com with proceeds going to the Canadian charity ‘Free The Children’, an organization dedicated to helping children around the world.
The winning design was chosen by a judging panel that included the show’s creator and star Brent Butt, the series’ production designer Hugh Shankland, and Joyce Woollcott, director of print design for the CTV Creative Agency.
The series finale airs April 13 on CTV and its ‘A’ channels.
