TORONTO – Television news channel CP24 will debut a new morning news show and radio station beginning Thursday morning.
Called ‘CP24 Breakfast’, the 3.5 hour news program pledges to deliver breaking news, weather and traffic information to Torontonians, while still keeping the channel’s renowned enhanced screen intact.
CP24 will further extend its brand within the Toronto area with the launch of ‘CP24 Radio 1050’, beginning Thursday at 5 a.m. The station formerly known as ‘1050 Chum’ will “broaden the reach of CP24’s local news coverage even further by offering 24-hour news content on a whole new platform”, the announcement read.
“CP24 Breakfast is an investment in local news in the (greater Toronto area)”, said Bob McLaughlin, vice president and GM of CP24. “This exciting new program, coupled with CP24 Radio 1050, enables us to deliver an unprecedented level of service to our viewers and listeners unlike anywhere else in the city.”
The CTV-owned news channel launched a new look last November, complete with an updated newsroom, and new technology including robotic in-studio cameras and high-tech video display walls that work to brand the channel’s various programs.
