TORONTO – In one what could be one of the snarkiest press releases to grace Cartt.ca’s in box this year, Global Television issued a statement thanking its arch rival CTV for including its prime time shows and ratings in CTV’s releases.
Recent CTV press releases recapping the Fall television season “generously reminded readers of the dramatic shift occurring in the TV landscape”, Global said. The rankings released by CTV included data showing that that Global had four of the top 10 shows in Canada this Fall among adults aged 25-54.
“In the same spirit of goodwill, Global would like to congratulate CTV for maintaining its top ranking among Canadian networks this fall”, the sarcasm-laced statement continued. “Global is also very pleased with its own performance – with 34% growth in primetime, the network has had its most successful fall in over half a decade.”
So much for the holiday spirit…
