VANCOUVER – As the country gears up to host the Olympics next month, Bell announced plans for the ‘Bell Ice Cube’, a fan zone that it says will serve as the ultimate viewing centre and meeting place for those wanting the next best thing to a front-row seat at Games.
Housed in a 3,000 square foot (280 square metre) structure in downtown Vancouver, the public showcase will feature entertainment, Olympic ticket giveaways, interactive product demonstrations and will air competitions on multiple plasma screens in high definition (courtesy of Bell TV, of course.)
"Bell wanted to create an experience for Olympic fans that would allow them to connect to the spirit of Vancouver and the Games in a way that no other place could offer," said Loring Phinney, VP of corporate and Olympic marketing, in a statement. "With more than 20 HD televisions showing all 10 channels within Canada’s Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium, plus our own dedicated live venue feeds, the Bell Ice Cube is the natural meeting place for people coming into the centre of the city."
