Olympic broadcast consortium signs 22 media sponsorships

TORONTO – Canada’s Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium has inked cross-platform media packages with 22 Canadian companies for the upcoming 2010 Winter Games.

Deals have been completed with 17 official Olympic Games partners plus five other media sponsors, the company announced Wednesday. Consortium sponsorship agreements range from $100,000 to multi-million-dollar deals.

Calling it the “single largest marketing opportunity in Canadian history”, president Keith Pelley said that the Consortium is “well ahead” of its revenue plan.

“We have sold packages across multiple platforms for both large and smaller advertisers”, Pelley said in the press release. “Because we are able to customize packages, advertisers can target a specific region or select a desired platform, making it affordable for almost any Canadian company."

Companies such as Air Canada, Canadian Pacific Railway, COLD-FX, McDonald’s Restaurants of Canada, RONA and Samsung Electronics Canada have already signed on, the release continued.
