Calling all papers for the SCTE Canadian Summit


EXTON, Pa. And TORONTO – The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers is seeking proposals for technical sessions that will be conducted during SCTE Canadian Summit 2010, which is set for Tuesday and Wednesday, March 9 – 10 in Toronto.

Specific to the Canadian cable telecommunications market, the focus of the SCTE Canadian Summit is to study the impact of integrating new technologies into existing cable infrastructures. Attendees will gain an understanding of the opportunities and the pitfalls of technology deployments – all to maximize customer satisfaction and gain operational efficiencies.

Technical paper proposals must be submitted to SCTE by Friday, Oct. 9.

The Summit’s sessions will address the following subjects, and submissions should specify one of these areas:

• Alternative Energy Solutions in the Network
• Commercial/Business Services
• DOCSIS 3.0
• Evolution of the Home
• FTTH/FTTB
• Headend and Related Facilities
• Making It Work!
• Software Solutions for Cable Operators

Submissions are to be e-mailed to gcalcaterra@scte.org. The event’s program committee will announce the selected presentations by Monday, Nov. 2.
