MoboVivo signs on with BlackBerry, iTunes

CALGARY – MoboVivo Inc. has announced platform compatibility with BlackBerry cell phones, and a secure video-on-demand (VOD) service available at the iTunes store.

The Calgary-based company that licenses and distributes TV shows and movies on-line and for mobile has marked its BlackBerry launch with ‘Red Carpet Diary’ coverage of the 2009 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), which runs from September 10-19, 2009.

Its VOD service for the iPhone and iPod Touch, called TV-Show-in-an-App, provides “the business model, digital security and alternative screen reach that broadcasters and networks are looking for to increase revenues”, says founder and CEO Trevor Doerksen.

"Bringing TV shows to computers, iPhone and BlackBerry takes the idea of anytime, anywhere video and makes it a reality," Doerksen said in the press release. "MoboVivo is the only company offering TV shows for multiple platforms because we know how consumers are affected by fragmentation caused by a lack of compatibility and portability."

Fans of TIFF can catch coverage of the day’s events, including celebrity interviews, fashion reviews and behind-the-scenes coverage of events and parties. The MoboVivo.com WebStore currently offers some 3,500 TV shows and movies for download.
