MONTREAL – Count Bell Canada among the Canadian communication companies who have stepped up to support to Haiti.
Bell Mobility customers can text-to-donate to the following charities assisting the earthquake-ravaged nation:
– Salvation Army: text « HAITI » to code 45678 to donate $5, or « ASTRAL » (same code) to donate $10;
– Plan Canada: text « HAITI » to code 30333 to donate $5;
– Clinton Giustra Sustainable: text « HAITI » to code 20222 to donate $5;
– World Vision: text « WORLD » (English) or « MONDE » (French) to code 45678 to donate $5;
– UNICEF Canada: text « GIVE » (English) or « DON » (French) to code 45678 to donate $5;
– Canadian Red Cross: text « REDCROSS » to code 30333 to donate $5.
Customers can make text donations of up to $30 per month, and Bell said that it has waived applicable fees in order to submit the entire donation to the charity.
Bell has also donated $100,000 to the Canadian Red Cross Haiti Earthquake Fund and another $25,000 to UNICEF, as well as arranging for employees to contribute directly to the Red Cross’ efforts.
