Cartt.ca adds senior writer

HAMILTON – Cartt.ca has added industry veteran Lesley Hunter as a senior writer.

A graduate of the Carleton University journalism program, Hunter has been in the TV biz for a number of years, working for TSN, Discovery Channel, CTV Specialty and, most recently, as manager of distributor relations, communications and marketing promotions with Maple Leafs Sports & Entertainment, owners of Leafs TV and Raptors NBA TV.

“I am very pleased to welcome Lesley aboard to help Cartt.ca chronicle our industry. She knows it well and is a talented writer. Her presence will help us expand our coverage in 2009 and beyond,” said Cartt.ca editor and publisher Greg O’Brien.

“With economic uncertainty and cutbacks all around, trying to do more with less is the challenge facing everyone in cable, radio, television and telecom, so having a ready, reliable source of news, information and feature stories is more important than ever.”

Hunter joins Cartt.ca’s many other regular contributors, including Ottawa-based radio editor Laurel Hyatt, Quebec City-based Quebec editor Glenn Wanamaker, consumer electronics editor John Bugailiskis (who will be departing soon to Las Vegas for the Consumer Electronics Show), western editor Tara Blasco-Raj (Edmonton) and regular contributors Norma Reveler (Ottawa), Linda Stuart (Toronto), Caroline van Hasselt (Toronto) and Myron Love (Winnipeg) and Laura Byrne Paquet (Ottawa).
