TORONTO – High Fidelity HDTV Inc. has inked a deal with Smithsonian Networks of the USA that will see programming from the Smithsonian Channel HDTM broadcast exclusively in Canada on Oasis HD, Equator HD and Treasure HD.
“Smithsonian Networks programming is a perfect fit for our suite of all-HD channels, and we are very proud to be able to offer it for the first time to Canadian viewers,” said John Panikkar, partner and co-founder of High Fidelity HDTV Inc., which operates Oasis HD, Equator HD and Treasure HD.
The Smithsonian Channel HD offers original content drawn mostly from the assets of the Smithsonian Institution, and features documentaries and short-subject films such as, World’s Finest Cars, Unbelievable Flying Objects, and Batwomen Of Panama.

Smithsonian Networks programming will be broadcast in Canada starting in three weeks.
