TORONTO – The former promotions director at Corus Entertainment’s 102.1 the Edge, Jonathan Sinden, has started his own company to help radio stations and media companies attract larger audiences.
Called Promo Director, the company is aimed at helping radio stations stay relevant in these rapidly changing economic times.
“It’s simple,” said Sinden, who founded Promo Director. “Stations hire us, just like they’d hire a voice over talent, but instead of reading scripts, we come up with solid revenue-generating plans for promotions, events, websites, databases and more.”
Sinden said radio stations need effective and stable expertise in these times of economic uncertainty.
“We are a station’s secret weapon,” he said. “Think about it, you can hire a big market mind to help your station right now for a lot less then you think. Our track record is undeniable. We are open 24/7, and we have a money back guarantee.”
Sinden worked at the Edge until he was let go this year after Corus noted in its quarterly conference call that it needed to maintain margins through “cost containment” as advertisers turned more to stations aimed at women, rather than male-skewered stations like the Edge.
Prior to working at the Edge, Sinden was employed as promotion manager at FLOW 93.5 FM, in sales and promotion at Z103.5 FM and Jazz FM 91, and as a commercial writer, commercial producer and promotions assistant at Classical 96 FM.
