TORONTO – Georges Leclere has been appointed as director of the Banff World Television Awards (“The Rockies”).
Leclere is the founder and president of global television producer LGMA Inc. He also has a background in television and awards programming.
Prior to launching LGMA, Leclere was senior vice-president of The International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, a sister organization of the US Television Academy, where he ran the International Emmy Awards from 1997-2006.
He was also the executive producer of the International Emmy Awards Gala ceremony and television shows, and remains a Fellow of the International Academy.
“I have been an admirer of both the Banff World Television Festival and The Rockies for a number of years and am thrilled by the opportunity to contribute my experience to what is already the largest and most esteemed television content competition in the world,” said Leclere.
