Bell’s Cable VDN adds HiFi HD channels

MONTREAL – Bell Canada’s Cable VDN has launched High Fidelity’s Suite of four high definition channels to their subscribers in Montreal. The company is the first terrestrial distributor to add the channels in the Quebec market. Bell’s other video division, ExpressVu, already carries the channels.

Cable VDN’s customers (the BDU serves a number of apartment buildings and condos across Montreal) will now have access to all-HD-all-the-time Oasis HD, Treasure HD, Equator HD, and Rush HD.

VDN has been providing cable service to Montrealers since 1998 and was purchased by Bell in 2005 for $26 million.

“Our customers have come to expect top quality, high-performance product on our service,” said VDN’s general manager, Philip Gale, in a press release.

“We are thrilled to be part of Cable VDN and to offer what we already know to be a stunning and unparalleled suite of four high definition channels,” says High Fidelity HDTV co-founder Ken Murphy, “and we now look forward to serving viewers in the Montreal market.”

High Fidelity HDTV is a Canadian-based company which is focused on the specialty television sector and which broadcasts continuous true high definition content with four all-HD channels. The company has a close relationship with Rainbow Media Holdings, the largest HD content provider in the USA, says HiFi.
