WHILE WE WILL STILL be covering the news as it happens at Cartt.ca, our newsletters are taking a little holiday break. Today’s newsletter will be the final regular one until January 6th as those of us at Cartt.ca celebrate Christmas and the New Year.
We will be back strong as usual in January with daily coverage from the very important Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, as well as the digital broadcasting conference put on by the CSUA in Toronto later in the month and then the SCTE Canadian Summit in early February. Then, don’t forget about the CRTC’s new media in broadcasting review.

However, if there’s REALLY BIG news during that time, of course we’ll be on it, but the entire industry generally quiets down quite a bit between now and January so we’re taking a break, too.
We’ll be coming back strong right away in the new year, though. Cartt.ca consumer electronics editor John Bugailiskis will be on the floor at the world’s largest consumer electronics expo, the International CES show, from January 8 to 11, filing daily reports, so look for special alerts that week.
Then, later that month, in Toronto, Cartt.ca will be covering the Canadian Satellite Users Association Digital Broadcasting Summit, to be held January 21 and 22.
And from February 3-4, the SCTE will hold its inaugural Canadian Summit in Toronto, at which Cartt.ca is the media partner.
So, to all of our readers and advertisers, thanks so much for your support throughout 2008, and all the best in 2009!
And of course, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, or best wishes for whatever goodwill celebration you hold dear at this time of year.
