Corus station raises $644,558 for B.C. kids hospital

VANCOUVER – Classic Rock 101 broadcast live from the B.C. Children’s Hospital from November 7 to 9, 2007 and with the help of station listeners, raised $644,558 for the hospital.

This effort marks Classic Rock 101’s fourth radiothon raising an overall total of over $2.35 million for B.C. Children’s Hospital.

Classic Rock 101 personalities Brother Jake Edwards, Martin Strong, Steve Dunbar, Dean Hill and Graham Hatch anchored 36 hours of interviews with families whose lives have been touched by the incredible staff at B.C. Children’s Hospital. The families and hospital staff were in turn touched by the generosity of Classic Rock 101 listeners, many of whom registered for the Sunshine Club, a monthly donation initiative for equipment and facility upgrades at the hospital.

“The hours we have spent here pale in comparison to the hours spent bedside by concerned families and tireless medical teams,” said Steve Parsons, program director, Classic Rock 101, in the press release.

“We’re thrilled that Classic Rock 101 has been able to assist the B.C. Children’s Hospital again this year. If our efforts make life just a little easier for these families, we’ve done our job.”
