QUISPAMSIS, N.B. – The Canadian Cable Systems Alliance and the Cable Public Affairs Channel finalized a new master affiliate agreement, the two organizations announced.
“This unique, established television service is widely carried by CCSA’s independent cable operators,” says Alyson Townsend, CCSA president and CEO. “We are pleased to have concluded this agreement and to continue our solid relationship with the team at CPAC.”
“CPAC is delighted to have formalized its long standing distribution partnership with the CCSA. We look forward to working with CCSA members and encourage them to contact us anytime to discuss cooperative communications activities or any other matters related to CPAC,” says Kim-Jaye Lucey, manager, affiliate and government relations at CPAC.
CPAC is Canada’s only privately-owned, commercial free, not for profit, bilingual licensed television service. Created in 1992 by a consortium of cable companies to preserve an independent editorial voice for Canada’s democratic process, CPAC provides a window on parliamentary, political and public affairs in Canada and the world. Since 1992, the cable industry has invested close to $50 million in CPAC. CPAC is delivered through cable, satellite or wireless distributors to over 10 million Canadian homes and worldwide via 24/7 live web-streaming and podcasts.
CCSA is the voice and vision of Canada’s independent cable companies. CCSA connects 90 independent cable operators (its members) and nearly one million subscribers with programming and equipment. CCSA ensures clear signals from independent cable operators reach regulators and government, says the alliance.
