TORONTO – CanWest Broadcasting on Tuesday unveiled a new senior organizational structure for the company that will see nine executives reporting to President Kathy Dore.
Reporting directly to Dore are:
– Andrew Akman, senior vice-president of strategy and chief administrative officer, who will continue to be responsible for strategic planning, business development and the integration of the Alliance Atlantis and Canwest broadcasting businesses. He will also oversee human resources operations and policy, information technology along with facilities and administration at the broadcaster’s Toronto offices.
– Charlotte Bell, senior vice-president of regulatory affairs, who will lead and oversee the company’s regulatory strategies and implementation, including compliance, policy, all aspects of the licensing process and liaising with appropriate regulatory/government agencies and departments.
– Errol Da-Re, executive vice-president of sales, who be responsible for the Canwest conventional and specialty television sales teams, including the marketing ventures, strategic research, digital media and revenue and inventory management teams.
– Michael French, chief financial officer, who heads up the finance team for the combined broadcasting business. French will oversee internal and external financial and performance reporting, as well as all budgeting, forecasting, business analysis and support and cash management functions.
– Walter Levitt, chief marketing officer, who will lead brand strategy, promotion and publicity for the combined broadcasting business. Levitt will also oversee content distribution and co-marketing with cable and satellite companies.
– David McCauley, senior vice-president of human resources, will report to both Dore and Andrew Akman. He will oversee human resources strategy and operations in the broadcasting division. He reports to Dore on succession planning, talent management, and performance evaluation, and to Akman on human resources policy and operations.
– Christine McGinley, senior vice-president of operations, who will oversee the operations of the 15 Global and E! stations across the country, as well as on-air, engineering and technical services for the combined broadcasting business.
– Barbara Williams, executive vice-president of content, who will oversee the acquisition, production and scheduling of content for all Canwest Broadcasting conventional networks, specialty channels and digital media platforms.
– Steve Wyatt, senior vice-president of news and information, who will report to Dore on editorial policy and technology and to Williams on content production and distribution. He continues to oversee editorial and operations for all Global and E! news rooms across the country, including Global National.
