TORONTO – CBC Radio One this summer will have a new fall line-up that includes two new shows.
“Two new shows, a new timeslot for an audience favourite, and the return of many ratings winners make CBC Radio One the destination for insightful information this fall,” said Chris Boyce, CBC Radio’s programming director. “We’re excited to bring listeners programming that serves their range of passions and interests, from the book lover to the news junkie to the comedian in all of us.”
The show Q, which focuses on the arts, culture and entertainment, will air from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., following The Current weekday mornings, and will be expanded to two hours on Friday mornings. It will also continue to be heard each weeknight at 10 p.m.
Aamer Haleem joins CBC Radio One, taking over the 2 p.m. weekday afternoon timeslot from Q. Haleem’s show will focus on national and international current affairs. He returns to Canada from stints in Hong Kong, New York and L.A. to host CBC Radio One’s new afternoon current affairs show from Vancouver.
CBC Radio host Shelagh Rogers will host a new Canadian literature program, which includes interviews with Canadian authors. Her soon-to-be-named show will broadcast from Vancouver every Saturday at 3 p.m.
