MONTREAL - The Supreme Court of Canada has granted the applications for leave to appeal the Québec Court of Appeal's decision of May 21, 2008, which rejected the company's plan of arrangement related to BCE's proposed privatization. The Supreme Court also granted BCE's motion to expedite the hearing. As ordered by the Court, the appeal will therefore be heard on June 17, 2008, at 9 a.m. In the balance hangs a privatization deal worth about $52 billion.
