Bell says “yes, we can come over today”


MONTREAL – Bell Canada just set the bar much higher on the customer service front in most of Canada by launching a pair of new residential service programs.

The big telco/Internet/wireless/TV company today announced “same day next day” service for fast and free servicing of Bell TV, Bell Internet and Bell Home Phone, and “express install” for premium next-day installation of all three home services, if customers make that choice. (Shaw Cable offers a same day next day service already.)

"These two new service initiatives support our number-one strategic imperative – improve customer service – and our focus on leveraging the momentum of our Bell TV, Bell Internet and Bell Home Phone products in the marketplace," said George Cope, president and CEO of BCE and Bell Canada, in this morning’s press release.

"Like our recent product, network and brand announcements, same day next day service and express install are the kind of game-changing initiatives that move Bell forward to our goal: To be recognized by customers as Canada’s leading communications company.”

Effective immediately, residential customers with standard service problems can receive fast and free service and repair on any of their Bell home services – Bell Home Phone, Bell Internet or Bell TV. If a service issue cannot be corrected from Bell’s offices, the company will dispatch its professional technician team to a customer’s home on the same or next day to undertake any necessary repairs at no extra charge. www.bell.ca/sameday.

Customers who order “express install” will receive next-day installation of Bell TV, Bell Internet and Bell Home Phone services. A single one-time fee of $59.95 applies to all next-day express installs. Customers can still opt instead for regular free installation on any these services based on Bell’s normal installation scheduling of a few days or weeks.

Bell Internet installation, for example, now includes full installation and support by a professional Bell technician at the customer’s home – modem delivery and installation, speed and performance optimization, setting up e-mail and account registration, and answering any questions customers may have. www.bell.ca/expressinstall.
