Bell brings HBO programming to mobile phones


TORONTO – Bell Mobility is the exclusive supplier in Canada of Home Box Office (HBO) Inc. programming to mobile phones, the wireless provider announced Tuesday.

The on-demand mobile service that launched Tuesday includes full episodes of HBO series, as well as related ringtones, wallpapers and shortly mobile games.

Entourage, Flight of the Conchords, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Tell Me You Love Me, Sex and the City and The Sopranos, along with promotional previews, trailers, bonus footage and stand-up comedy are among the programming being offered to subscribers. The shows will be available at the same time as they are released on video.

“This agreement exemplifies our goal to grow our profile in the international marketplace through digital platforms,” said Stanley Fertig, SVP at HBO International.

A French version of Bell Mobility’s HBO service will be available in dubbed French beginning in May.

The service can be accessed on a wide range of phones, including the LG 385, Samsung Carbon and LG Muziq at a price of $10 a month.
