OTTAWA – Satellite service provider (business voice and data) RAMTelecom said today it will not be sold after all.
It and SkyPort, the suitor, today announced that they have reached a mutual agreement to terminate the proposed acquisition of RAMTelecom by SkyPort and, alternatively, strengthen their alliance moving forward, according to the release.
"We recognize the common synergies between the two companies and strengthening the existing business-to-business relationship will help us expand our satellite-based business communications services. RAMTelecom has started to work on the final details on a technology procurement to expand and enhance its satellite network into the U.S. This provides us with increased capacity, redundancy and will contribute to the overall company profitability." The expected launch of the new service is Q3 2007," said Ralph Misener, CEO of RAMTelecom.
