HAMILTON – Mountain Cablevision has been awarded the outstanding business achievement award in the communications technology category by the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce.
The independent cableco, founded by Owen Boris, has a long history of innovation in the cable telecommunications industry. It offers world-class communication and entertainment services to its customers including digital cable television, HDTV, high speed Internet and a cable telephone service, launched only two years ago.
The company is well known and respected in Hamilton as it has claimed four consecutive Reader’s Choice awards for its Internet service from readers of the Hamilton Spectator and a Cable-Tec award as a top-tier North American cable system from the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers.
"We work hard to deliver quality services to our customers so it is an honour to get that acknowledgement,” said John Piercy, president, Mountain Cablevision. “We’re also thrilled with the response to our local telephone service. Almost half of our customers (Mountain has approximately 38,000) have taken the service so far and we’re elated with the reaction."
