Sabia joins Thomson board


STAMFORD, Conn. – Bell Canada Enterprises CEO Michael Sabia has been appointed to the board of directors of the Thomson Corporation.

"I am delighted to welcome Michael to Thomson’s board of directors," said David K.R. Thomson, chairman of the board of The Thomson Corporation, in a release. "We are pleased to be adding an executive of Michael’s stature and experience to our organization. His participation on our board will be invaluable to the corporation as we continue to execute on our strategic vision and drive shareholder value."

Sabia has been Bell’s CEO since 2002 and joined BCE in 1999. Before joining BCE, he was executive vice-president and chief financial officer of Canadian National Railway Company and prior to that, held a number of government jobs.

The Thomson Corporation provides electronic workflow solutions to business and professional customers such as value-added information, software tools and applications to more than 20 million users in the fields of law, tax, accounting, financial services, scientific research and health care.
