Ski jumps up


TORONTO – Paul Ski, the head of CHUM Limited’s radio division, has been promoted to president of CHUM Radio.

Ski was formerly executive vice-president radio, responsible for all CHUM Radio properties across Canada. He is also a member of CHUM Limited’s senior management group.

“Paul Ski is an exceptional media executive who has played a significant role in our company’s success," said CHUM CEO Jay Switzer. "This appointment recognizes Paul’s leadership, and the achievements of the CHUM Radio team."

A career broadcaster, Ski has an extensive background in radio, having worked in many areas of management at CHUM over the past 30 years. He joined CHUM in 1972 at CFRA Ottawa and worked at CHUM’s Halifax radio properties before moving to Vancouver in 1981 where he was vice-president/general manager of CHUM Radio’s Western Operations.

Ski (pictured) received his Masters in Business Administration from Simon Fraser University focusing on research, strategy development and implementation. "He is recognized as an expert in developing strategic plans to reposition and brand radio stations, and has spoken extensively on these topics to various broadcasters and industry groups," said the press release.

Ski has been actively involved in a number of national and regional associations and industry committees as well and is currently a member of the boards of the Radio Marketing Bureau, the Bureau of Broadcast Measurement (BBM) and Chair of the Radio Board of the Canadian Association of Broadcasters (CAB)
