
TORONTO – Travel + Escape, the re-branded CTV Travel channel, will launch Monday, October 30 at 12:01 am ET.
Said to be "an edgier evolution of its predecessor," according to its press release, Travel + Escape will boast a revitalized program direction and a commitment to programming that is exotic, adventurous, spontaneous and luxurious.
With more than 100 new hours of experienced-based programming, Travel + Escape "promises a virtual passport to the most exhilarating locales and ‘aspirational’ experiences from around the globe. The Travel + Escape schedule will feature a mix of programs ranging from dynamic destinations to compelling character-driven series. For Canadian travel enthusiasts everywhere, the combination promises to be unparalleled," reads the release.
"Travel + Escape will be the go-to destination for programming that features the most exotic, exclusive experiences from around the world," said Paul Lewis, president of Discovery Channel, Travel + Escape, Animal Planet, Discovery HD and Discovery Civilization Channel, in the newser. "Since 2001, the channel has continuously evolved and we believe that its new contemporary identity is a perfect fit with this exotic, glamorous and experience-based new programming direction."
CTV’s in-house creative services and on-air promotions team (Isaac Cheung is senior designer and Jon Arklay is director of CTV’s creative services department; Mike Earls is creative director and Alanna Barkley-Smith is director of CTV’s on-air promotions department) developed the entire channel package, including the logo (pictured).
