OTTAWA – Ottawa-based satellite service provider RAMTelecom is expanding operations by opening an office in Calgary and moving to new facilities in Ottawa.
The moves come less than two months after the company announced its initial public offering. The new Calgary office houses sales and field support staff serving customers in the oil and gas, forestry, and government sectors.
The new Ottawa headquarters provides enhanced 24/7 network monitoring, maintenance and customer service for RAMTelecom customers across Canada, as well as sales and field support for mining and government customers. The company says it will be able to manage customer services more effectively through centralized monitoring and network management stations, develop and test new engineering technology, demonstrate emerging satellite services through a new customer demonstration area, and accommodate additional technical staff.
"We’re expanding to better meet the needs of our growing customer base," said Gilles Desmarais, President and COO of RAMTelecom. "With these new offices we are well positioned to support our existing customers and deliver the kind of flexible, scalable broadband data and voice business communications they need, whether they are operating in urban centres across the country or in remote regions where traditional communication networks can’t reach."
RAMTelecom delivers VSAT-based satellite broadband data and voice services via its own proprietary satellite hub to medium and large enterprise customers.
