WINNIPEG – MTS Allstream’s security division, AAA Alarm Systems, has purchased Calgary’s Superior Security Systems.
The acquisition, announced late Wednesday, helps AAA Alarms in building on its existing account base of over 40,000 monitored alarm services across Western Canada, says the company.
“This transaction is part of our ongoing efforts to increase our customer base across Western Canada,” said Randy Williams, general manager, AAA Alarms. “Superior Security Systems is a good fit with our existing Alberta operations and we look forward to protecting even more homes and businesses in Calgary.”
Terms of the deal were not announced.
The acquisition of Superior Security Systems is consistent with AAA Alarms’ ongoing strategy of acquiring smaller Western Canadian alarm companies and integrating them with its well-established Manitoba operations, says the press release.
In 2004, the company acquired Winnipeg-based Compuscan Protection Inc., as well as Bragg Security Services Inc. and Scott Security Systems (Calgary) Ltd. In 2005, AAA Alarms further strengthened its position in Western Canada’s residential and business security market by acquiring the operating assets of Calgary’s Reliable Alarms Ltd.
