HALIFAX – Aliant has launched Atlantic Canada’s first mobile streaming video clip service for customers’ multimedia cell phones.
Streaming TV Clip service, powered by QuickPlay Media, provides customers with unlimited access almost instantly to the latest news headlines, sports updates, weather forecasts, music videos, and entertainment TV highlights on their Aliant phone.
“We are introducing a new form of mobile entertainment that is available right in the palm of your hand,” said Terry Finnigan, General Manager, Aliant Mobility. “Customers with multimedia cell phones will now have unlimited access to the latest news, sports or entertainment TV highlights, over the fastest high-speed wireless network in Atlantic Canada.”
Customers who subscribe to a new Enhanced Feature Value 4 package can get streaming TV clip for $25 as well as other voice and data services. The package is available on the Samsung 900, Samsung 920, and Sanyo 7500 phones, which support streaming video clips in their embedded media player. Clips will be updated regularly and will be provided by several TV broadcasters such as CBC, MuchMusic, Comedy Time, and Tribute TV.
