EDMONTON – When the expanded four-hour BreakfastTelevision debuts Tuesday, September 5th on Citytv Edmonton, news anchor Rob Hislop and Weather Host Wendy Sandwith will share lead hosting duties.
Hislop is a graduate of both the University of Alberta and NAIT. In 2002, he joined Citytv (then A-Channel), as news anchor for “BT-BreakfastTelevision” and began anchor duties for CityNews at Noon one year later. Hislop will also continue in his current role as news anchor.
Sandwith (pictured) joined the Citytv team in 2004 as weather host for BT-BreakfastTelevision and CityNews at Noon.
“We’re thrilled that Rob and Wendy are taking over as co-hosts as we expand to four hours,” said Paul Mennier, Citytv local content manager. “They’re polished pros with experience, poise and good humour, and will bring a lot to the table in terms of content and chemistry”.
Bridget Ryan will continue doing live remotes while Citytv reporter Esther Kim becomes the BT weather and traffic reporter. Rounding out the lineup is seasoned TV journalist Michele McDougall.

When CHUM announced its company-wide staff cuts in July, expanding some of the local programming was said to be in the pipeline and this is the first of the stations to make official such an announcement.
