TORONTO – Kids are already getting cranky about going back to school in a couple of weeks, and to capitalize on the emotion level, MuchMusic, MusiquePlus, Genesis Media and Hilroy (the school supply folks) have gotten together for a multiplatform contest marketing campaign.
The companies want Hilroy Rant and Rave contest entrants to video themselves spilling on everything from back-to-school blues to sensational summer vacations – and then send in their rants and raves to www.muchmusic.com and www.musiqueplus.com
Online voting decides who wins the grand prize, which is a trip for three to any concert in North America along with the winning video featured in a 30 second on-air spot on MuchMusic and MusiquePlus.
"Back-to-school is always a key time period… so we’re delighted to hook up with Genesis Media, and their client Hilroy, in a fun and ‘season-appropriate’ contest," said Susan Arthur, director of marketing, CHUM Television. "We’ve managed to wrap the great prizing in an engaging multi-platform package, with the net objective to showcase user-generated content on our web sites."
Video and text messages can be submitted until the contest closing date of Sunday, September 3rd at midnight ET. Online, fans can also view entries, cast votes and read all about the contest.
