TORONTO – Emma Fachini has been promoted to director, sales promotion at Teletoon.
She joined Teletoon in May 1997 as the very first sales promotion employee for the French and English networks. "She is a strong leader, compassionate manager, and energetic team builder who has played a pivotal role in building the sales promotion team," said a release from Leslie Krueger, vice-president of marketing.
Fachini’s "creative lead, her dedication to delivering superior results, and her vibrant people skills have led her to spearhead many award-winning initiatives," says the release, including:
• The Web Marketing Association’s 2006 Internet Advertising Competition (IAC) Awards in the best broadcasting microsite/landing page category for Hasbro’s Scamps My Playful Pups microsite.
• The Bronze Award in the television category of Marketing Magazine’s Media Innovation Awards for Barq’s, which also won PROMAX’s 2006 Gold in the category of promotional animation campaign. The custom-created animation sequences saw Barq’y, the Barq’s Dog, taking a bite out of Teletoon during the airing of The Detour branding elements and throughout the adult-skewing programming bloc

Fachini (pictured) will oversee both the Toronto and Montreal sales promotions teams. She will work with the Astral and Corus (Teletoon’s co-owners) sales arms to generate leads and proactively pursue strategic partnerships with key agencies and clients, says the release.
To help Fachini, Teletoon has hired a manager, interactive sales; Christine MacLaurin. She will be responsible for cultivating strategic partnerships with key web advertisers, building awareness of Teletoon’s interactive offerings to agencies and clients and managing key web sales accounts.
MacLaurin has been a freelance online marketing specialist with clients such as C3 Online Marketing, Darius Films, and Warner Brothers. Previous to her freelancing, Christine worked as a senior account manager at Toronto.com, and as the interactive media manager at ChumCity.
