AOL Video to launch Friday

NEW YORK – Video, especially shortish, original clips, is where a lot of the growth in Internet viewership has come in the past 12 months (hello, YouTube). On Friday, AOL is getting into the act with AOL Video, which will feature branded VOD channels, a new video search capability, free videos and some paid content, which will apparently be full-screen DVD quality. Plus, it won't limit itself to short video bites of entertainment. Full shows will be available, too. Right now the site says AOL Video will be "open to anyone", but for a lot of the branded Internet content...
