MONTREAL – Broadcast gear manufacturer Miranda Technologies has appointed Richard Brice as president, Asia, and Darin Crosby as managing director, Europe, Middle East, and Africa.
Both appointments are effective June 1, 2006 and they’ll report to president and CEO Strath Goodship.
Operating from Hong Kong, Brice, who most recently held the position Crosby is taking, will be responsible for all of Miranda’s operations in the Asian market, where the company realized 12% of its sales last year.
“We are determined to take full advantage of the growing opportunities that this market offers,” said Goodship, in a release. “As our European Managing Director for the past five years, Richard has given considerable momentum to our European operations and I am confident that his experience and drive will help us grow our business in Asia."
Brice has been a member of Miranda’s management team since April 2001, when the company acquired Oxtel plc (U.K.), where he was head of sales and marketing.
Crosby joined Miranda from VertigoXmedia, another Montreal company which Miranda recently acquired, as announced at NAB. He was president of VertigoXmedia’s broadcast division and now will be based at Miranda’s European headquarters in Wallingford, U.K. “Darin’s extensive management and sales experience will help us continue to grow our European business and ensure that we maintain our leadership position in our playout and graphics product lines,” said Goodship.
Prior to his stint at VertigoXmedia, Crosby had spent seven years at Miranda.
