TORONTO – CanWest MediaWorks revealed the U.S. shows it has purchased for the 2006-07 TV season.
New series’ include:
Shark, with James Woods and Jeri Ryan. Brothers & Sisters with Calista Flockhart and Rachel Griffiths; Kidnapped with Dana Delany, Timothy Hutton and Delroy Lindo. The Black Donnellys, from Academy Award Winners Paul Haggis and BobbyMoresco. Vanished, from CSI’s Josh Berman.
Fourteen dramas and eight comedies will complement the CH and Global’s roster of returning hit favourites.
"We chose these top-tier properties based on their outstanding hit potential, and we’re proud to have brought home our strongest lineups to date – programs that will build on the solid successes we have had with audiences over the last year," said Barbara Williams, senior vice-president, programming and production for CanWest MediaWorks. "We are delighted with the bench strength we have assembled – from pedigreed producers to lead performances from established and breaking talent across all genres – 06-07 is going to be a landmark TV year for CanWest."
The returning shows are: House, Prison Break, Survivor, 24, American Dad, Family Guy, King Of The Hill, The Simpsons, The War At Home, My Name Is Earl, The Office, Las Vegas, The Apprentice, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Deal Or No Deal, Two-And-A-Half Men, NCIS, Biggest Loser, Boston Legal, The New Adventures Of Old Christine, How I Met Your Mother.
Along with Kathleen Dore, president, TV and radio CanWest MediaWorks, Williams will present the 2006-07 primetime schedules for Global and CH to industry and advertisers in Toronto on June 7th.
