
MONTREAL – Former Telemedia exec Mario Cecchini has been hired as vice-president, Montreal Region, and Jacques Papin promoted to vice-president, network at Corus Radio in Montreal.
These appointments will take effect as of July 31, 2006, said Pierre Arcand, president of Corus Quebec.
"Mr. Cecchini and Mr. Papin both have an enviable background in the Quebec radio world," said Arcand. "They will most certainly rise brilliantly to these new challenges."
Cecchini has 18 years experience in radio broadcasting, and was executive vice-president for Telemedia Quebec and Ontario. Until recently he was working in the marketing industry, where he held the position of President of Zoom Media, an ad agency.
Papin is well known in the Corus Radio Quebec network, where he was general manager of CKAC, prior to taking on the job of GM of Info 690 and 940 News, and subsequently of CKOI FM.
The new positions mean that the Montreal stations 98.5 FM, Q92 FM, CKOI, CKAC, Info 690 and 940Montreal will fall under Cecchini’s (pictured) watch, while Papin will be responsible for the stations CIME Saint-Jérôme, CFEL Montmagny, CHLN Trois-Rivières, CHLT Sherbrooke, CJRC Gatineau, CKRS Saguenay, CKTS Sherbrooke, CFOM Lévis and CHRC Quebec City.
