TORONTO – GOLTV has announced a deal for the all-soccer network to be carried by Videotron for digital subscribers in Quebec, including Montreal, Gatineau, and Chicoutimi.
The channel is in a free preview period. It’s available in English and Spanish.
GOLTV airs more than 1,500 games a year, and is gearing up to broadcast a slate of friendly matches leading up to this year’s World Cup.
“We know that interest in the ‘beautiful game’ of soccer is at a fever pitch this year, especially in the Montreal area, and GOLTV on Videotron delivers the biggest international stars live, each week,” says Mark Rubinstein, President, Insight Sports Ltd., which operates GOLTV.
Videotron’s vice president of programming, Claude Sauvé, says the cableco is always looking to add “new and exciting content” and that GOLTV fits the bill.
