KITCHENER - Members of the SCTE Ontario chapter welcomed their new board of directors as they gathered today to discuss Troubleshooting and the OSI Layer Model for Advanced Services. Attendees learned the basics of the ubiquitous model for communications and then were guided through the model's relationship to DOCSIS, PacketCable, video on demand, and operational support systems. Former chapter president Ian Oliver started the day by priming attendees on the wide applicability of the Open Systems Interconnection Model to all forms of communications and offered relevant examples at the various Application, Presentation, Session, Transport, Network, Data-link, and Physical Layers.
