Zakaib appointed Larcan general manager

MISSISSAUGA – Transmitter manufacturer Larcan recently announced Steven Zakaib has been appointed general manager.

Zakaib joined Larcan in 2001 as vice-president of sales and marketing and prior to joining the company, spent nearly 20 years in the process control industry, where he progressed through a wide variety of increasingly challenging strategic positions in sales, marketing and business development with ABB, Honeywell and Rockwell Automation.

In his previous role, Zakaib had domestic market responsibilities which included leading the sales team, managing the U.S. and Canadian markets, as well as the corporate marketing team. Over the past four years, “his accomplishments and career growth at LARCAN has encompassed increased international sales and marketing mandates in North and South America, as well as Europe and Asia,” says the company’s press release.

In 2004, Larcan’s strategic focus was broadened “to achieve sustained growth and Mr. Zakaib, as senior vice-president, led this initiative, (which) included a strong focus on increased business from overseas markets and the development of strategic partners internationally,” adds the release.

As GM, he is responsible for driving the company’s vision, future growth in key broadcast markets, and developing new business opportunities worldwide.
