Rogers launches SVOD in NB

MONCTON, NB – Rogers Cable is launching subscription video on demand in New Brunswick, after rolling out in larger cities. Digital customers in Moncton, Fredericton, Bathurst, Edmundston, Miramichi, and Saint John will now have access to more than 70 movies and television series.

The Movie Network On Demand will be available on channel 308 at no additional charge to customers who currently subscribe to The Movie Network. Viewers can choose to watch a movie or program at any time with the ability to pause, rewind, and fast-forward the show, just like with a VCR or DVD player.

"The Movie Network On Demand is unique to cable and is part of the suite of Rogers On Demand services that is revolutionizing the television viewing experience by giving people total control over what they watch, when they want to watch it," said Ken Marshall, Regional President, Atlantic Canada, in a release. "With the launch of The Movie Network On Demand, Rogers is clearly the place to be for more movies."

In the new year, Rogers will be adding more SVOD content by offering a library of more than 1,000 titles from studios such as Warner Bros., Universal, Sony, Maple Pictures Corp., Alliance Atlantis Motion Picture Distribution (representing Miramax, New Line and Artisan Films), CBC, CHUM Television, Corus Entertainment, and TVA. It will also add services such as WWE 24/7, Treehouse On Demand, and YTV Anime On Demand.
