Big Earl plays anything country

CAMROSE, Alta. – On Friday at 4 p.m. radio in NewCap Radio debuted a country-fried version of the Bob/Jack format: BIG EARL 98.1 FM, who plays anything country!

Big Earl kicked off with a bang by announcing one thousand songs in a row! When the thousandth song is played, the 98th caller through the request lines at 888-85-56 BIG instantly wins $5,000.

“790 CFCW is Alberta’s Heritage Country Radio Station. Music and Information will continue to be the staples of our format,” said Jackie Rae Greening, program director/morning show co-host on 790 CFCW. “Big Earl will be music intensive, targeting the younger country music lover (and their attitude), on the FM dial at 98.1.”

Big Earl’s starting lineup includes The Dogs Breakfast with Barks and Holly, mornings from 5:30 to 9. Mid-days from 9 to 2 with Pepper. Afternoons from 2-7 with Kelsey Cross and weekends with Cash.

“We’re thrilled to be able to provide Camrose with its first local FM station,” added Mike Shannon, operations manager. “The whole staff is excited to be up and running finally…we can’t wait to bring Big Earl to the street!”
