GRAVENHURST, Ont. – Canada’s two cable system organizations are getting together to hold their annual gatherings at the same time and place next month.
The Canadian Cable Systems Alliance annual general meeting will be held on September 28th and 29th at the Taboo Resort, Golf & Conference Centre in Gravenhurst, Ontario, about 90 minutes north of Toronto’s Pearson airport.
The Canadian Cable Television Association’s business day and Galaxi Awards presentation will be at the same venue on Tuesday September 27th for the convenience of the joint attendees.
Here’s an outline of the week’s events.
Tuesday, Sept. 27th
– CCTA business day and Galaxi Awards (with special industry presentation)
Wednesday, Sept. 28th
– 8:30 to 11:30 table top trade show
– CCSA signature Golf Tournament (shot gun start at 1 p.m.)
– 7:30 p.m. – CCSA President’s Reception and BBQ
Thursday, Sept. 29th
CCSA Business Day including:
– Morning educational sessions with speakers including Rogers Cable’s Mike Lee, the American Cable Association’s Matt Polka and technology futurist Tod Maffin.
– Awards luncheon (featuring comedian Brent Butt of Corner Gas)
– Afternoon education/marketing sessions
– Cocktails and dinner/entertainment

Taboo Resort, Golf & Conference Centre in Gravenhurst, Ontario. The CCSA says it believes the resort atmosphere at Taboo will provide a more stimulating, interactive environment than offered at the large urban hotels. Taboo is Mike Weir’s home course – a beautiful and challenging location for the signature golf tournament.
