Standard names Bolton interactive content director

TORONTO – Standard Broadcasting has hired interactive veteran Rob Bolton to the position of national content director for Standard Interactive, the company announced today.

Bolton has over a decade of experience in the music industry creating unique and exclusive entertainment content for the likes of Sympatico, Yahoo!, Rogers, and others. A pioneer in online radio and webcasting, Bolton was instrumental in the growth of Standard’s Iceberg Radio and Virtue Broadcasting – early adopters of audio and video streaming technologies.

He recently returned from London, U.K., where he acted as a corporate communications and streaming media consultant to BT (British Telecom), and other FTSE 100 companies.

“I’m extremely excited to be taking on this new challenge”, said Bolton in the release. “Standard Interactive has an impressive network which provides an excellent opportunity to engage music fans across Canada. I’m looking forward to developing a new content strategy that will take advantage of the growing demand for fresh online entertainment ideas.”

Jean-Marie Heimrath, president of Standard Interactive, added: “We are positively thrilled to have Rob on board. He brings with him a deep knowledge of the online entertainment business, and a passion for music that will be a great asset to our organization.”

Bolton will be responsible for creating, managing, and distributing content for the Standard Interactive Network, which includes 51 Standard Radio web sites, and all 200 channels within Iceberg Radio. He will also be responsible for integrating and sharing content throughout Standard Interactive’s affiliates, including Flow 93.5 in Toronto, Clubvibes in Vancouver, Puretracks and Maple Music.

Standard Interactive is an online content publisher, a technology provider and a music and entertainment advertising network that reaches over 1.3 million unique visitors* each month. Standard Interactive offers advertisers several online and offline national promotion and marketing opportunities including private label (white label) radio, content sponsorship, multi-media ad buys, podcasting, content production, online audio and video ads, rich media creative and more.
