Ou est Roger? contest marks launch of Rogers/MusiquePlus phone


MONTREAL – On Saturday, in the streets and on television and the Internet, Rogers Wireless and MusiquePlus will be asking one question: Where is Roger? and giving away 1,000 new phones.

The two companies have organized Québec’s largest scavenger hunt: Où est Roger!?. To launch the new Pay As You Go Motorola V186P MusiquePlus Edition phone, Rogers will have young people from across Québec searching for Roger.

On Saturday September 17th, the Où est Roger!? scavenger hunt will be held simultaneously in 54 cities for 12 hours, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Young people who want to search their region for one of the 43 Roger’s hidden simultaneously in cities across Québec can play online and in real time at www.ouestroger.com. Until today, MusiquePlus VJ’s will give out useful information about the hunt during the station’s regular programming. And until September 16th, those who want to participate will be able to register at www.ouestroger.com and receive clues before everyone.

On Saturday, the day of the hunt, the clues for the 54 participating cities across Québec will be available beginning at 6 a.m. on www.ouestroger.com. Throughout the day, there will be 10,000 prizes to be won, including 1,000 Motorola V186P Pay As You Go MusiquePlus Edition phones, 8,000 compilation CD’s of Québec artists and 1,000 Où est Roger!? t-shirts.

Rogers will scatter 100 000 secret codes across the province, hidden on cardboard MusiquePlus phones. Those who find the cardboard phones will have until 8 p.m. on Saturday, September 17th to see if theirs is a winner at www.ouestroger.com and discover the prize they have won.

Throughout the day on September 17th, MusiquePlus will follow the most avid participants. VJ’s Chéli, Iza, Gonzo, Valérie, Rej, Rebecca and Nabi will be featured live on MusiquePlus to help participants find one of the 43 Roger’s hidden across the province by giving out some of the answers to the clues.
