Media execs at Innoversity career fair

TORONTO – More than 15 executives in the broadcast and film industry will participate in the first-ever Innoversity Media Career Fair at the fourth annual Innoversity Creative Summit, September 29th and 30th at the Holiday Inn Hotel, on King Street in Toronto.

Sponsored by Global TV, the Innoversity Media Career Fair will connect human resources executives with registered Innoversity delegates representing a multitude of cultural backgrounds, all ages, physical abilities and genders.

Executives, from key television, radio and film organizations, will host booths and provide information about jobs and careers in their organizations. They will also be accessible throughout the Summit for informal discussions about media career opportunities, says the press release.

The organizations participating in the Innoversity Media Career Fair to date are: Alliance Atlantis, APTN, Astral, Global TV, CHUM, CORUS, CTV, FLOW-93.5FM, FRONT, The National Film Board, OMNI, Standard Radio, Telefilm, The Weather Network/Pelmorex and Vision TV. Discussions are in progress to accommodate additional media organizations that wish to participate.

"Our goal is to connect talented people of all genders, ages, physical abilities and cultural backgrounds to a wide range of opportunities in the media”, says Cynthia Reyes, co-founder and chair of Innoversity. "We can’t guarantee anyone a job, but we are certainly creating opportunities for both the industry and those seeking to further their careers. The Innoversity Creative Summit is the perfect forum for communications companies to tap into these under-represented groups and gain a better understanding of how to achieve greater diversity in their own workplaces.”

In addition to the Media Career Fair, the Innoversity Creative Summit offers a rich program of speakers, panels, screenings and international case studies as well as a popular marketplace for media content. Innoversity is a ‘must attend’ for media professionals, students, managers and anyone who has an interest in culture, diversity and innovation.

Delegates will join renowned authorities, deep thinkers, creators and change agents in a dynamic and open setting. Malcolm Gladwell author of the Tipping Point and Blink, summed up his experience attending the first Innoversity: “I have never felt such a feeling of warmth and community at a conference before.”

The Innoversity Creative Summit is a not-for profit organization founded in 2000 by media veterans Cynthia Reyes and Hamlin Grange, who now head leading diversity and management consulting firm, DiversiPro Inc.
