TORONTO – CHUM Television’s celebrity/entertainment specialty service Star! announced a new co-host today.
She’s Dina Pugliese (pronounced pool-ye-a-zay), who most recently was co-host of the former Toronto 1’s “A-List” (Toronto 1 is now SUN TV)
Pugliese’s first on-air appearance on Star! will be December 19th, 2005.
“Her unique take on the entertainment news of the day is a welcome addition to Star!’s already extensive coverage of the Canadian Entertainment scene,” says the CHUM release today.
With a degree in broadcast journalism, a double major sociology and mass communications from York University, Dina had her television start at Global Television, working behind-the camera on "The Bynon Show" and was soon producing entertainment segments. Her career changed direction in 2003, when she moved over to Toronto 1 as entertainment anchor on their morning show.
She survived a staff purge at the struggling station then and moved to primetime, as Host of the "A-List".
"I’m thrilled to be joining the CHUM family,” added Pugliese (right).
She joins host Husein Madhavji, and correspondents Larysa Harapyn, Terry David Mulligan, Liz West and Danielle McGimsie on "Star! Daily", a smart — and sometimes cheeky — daily look at the world of showbiz.
