Media on demand coming to Canadian schools in the fall from CHUM

TORONTO – Distribution Access will launch Media on Demand to schools in Canada this September, thanks to the company’s purchase of educational video supplier Classroom Video.

Distribution Access is the educational sales and marketing arm of Access Media Group, a division of CHUM Ltd. DA announced yesterday the acquisition of the North American operations of Classroom Video, an internationally respected producer and distributor of award-winning educational video that has served schools, colleges and universities in North America for more than 15 years.

The acquisition includes ‘Media on Demand’, a fully interactive digital video library designed specifically to meet the growing needs for digital media in the classroom at an affordable price. MoD offers educators a large digital video library they can create from the thousands of top quality titles offered by Distribution Access in Canada.

"This is an exciting opportunity to make curriculum-correlated digital video resources available to all Canadian schools at a price all can afford without the need for high bandwidth internet streaming" says Gary Karlsen, manager, E-Learning Services for Classroom Video.

"The acquisition of Classroom Video is an important building block in our ongoing commitment to serve educators and learners with the best content and technology available,” added Dr. Ron Keast, president and CEO of Access Media Group
